ABSTRACT: We consider the dynamics of possibly infinitely generated semigroups of rational maps on the Riemann sphere. We prove Bowen's formula for the Hausdorff dimension of the pre-Julia set of a nicely expanding rational semigroup. We give applications to non-hyperbolic rational semigroups by employing the method of inducing. The results are based on a joint work with Hiroki Sumi.
