This week we will cover some of the concepts and highlights of cardinal arithmetic, and in particular pcf theory. This field focuses mainly on the combinatorics of singular cardinals. Questions in this domain tend to have concrete answers as opposed to independence phenomena. If you are planning on attending the RTG talk this week (and you should be), and want to maximize your appreciation of that material, you should attend this GLG talk.
