The academic job market is intense. From prepping your "materials" and navigating the Joint Meetings Employment Center, to scoring the coveted on-campus interview and eventually landing an offer, there's so much to enjoy along the way. And when I say enjoy, of course I really mean totally freak out about. A lot of it can feel really overwhelming and intimidating, and at some points it feels like nobody really tells you what to do until it's actually happening to you. As someone who has been through this all recently -- and emerged successfully out the other side -- I will deliver some real talk about what you can expect from the job market, and what you should look out for on the way. There will be plenty of time for questions.
