"Modeling the spread of disease using differential equations and some persistence results"

Abstract:

An exploration of epidemic models will be formulated using differential equations. Concepts such as R0 and final size relation will be introduced and both their importance and limitations shown. This will lead naturally to considering more general persistence results for less basic models and a few will be presented.
