Abstract: In this multimedia presentation I will describe the module categories of a family of generic Hecke algebras that specialize to the complex reflection groups G(r,1,n) and to endomorphism rings of certain permutation characters of finite general linear groups. In particular, in a manner that is reminiscent of the method of little groups, I will give a construction of complete sets of inequivalent, irreducible modules for semisimple specializations of these algebras.
