Shama S. Surani is majoring in mathematics with a minor in Spanish and is completing her teacher certification through Teach North Texas. Shama was recognized on Honors Day in 2014 as the Outstanding Undergraduate Student in Secondary Mathematics Teaching and was awarded the Rogher L. Perry scholarship. This fall Shama is student teaching at Harmon High School and plans to graduate in December. After graduation, Shama plans to teach secondary mathematics in Lewisville ISD. She would like to pursue a masters degree in mathematics and teaching, and her dream is to some day open a rural school in a developing country.
