Carlsbad Caverns We did the King's Palace tour and then we stuck around to see the bats fly out in the evening!
2. Carlsbad to Albuquerque
UFO Museum This was in Roswell, NM.
Indian Pueblo Cultural Center Any time I visit Alb. I stop at the cultural center to see any new exhibits. Sometimes you can catch Pueblo dancers in the courtyard.
Sandia Peak One of my favorite places in the world! The tram to the top is exciting. I like to go up just before dark to see the view and catch the lights of Alb.
3. Albuquerque to Flagstaff
Gallup We stopped into the El Rancho Hotel. It's pretty cool to see the pictures/paintings of famous Hollywood stars.
Acoma Pueblo "Sky City" This is a really cool experience. You can tour the Pueblo and talk to the people that live up on the mesa.
Petrified Forest NP
4. Flagstaff to Page
The Grand Canyon We went to the south rim on this trip.
Page - Lake Powell Campground Page/Lake Powell is a really cool are! We left wanting to see so much more, which prompted our planning for the 2019 trip.
5. Page to Moab (Southern Colorado)
Four Corners Monument
Mesa Verde NP
KOA in Moab We walked the downtown strip and hung out with some locals. Moab is another one of those adventure places that we were not prepared for. A lot to do.
6. Moab to Denver
Rocky Mountain NP We went up the west side of the Rocky Mountains along Trail Ridge Road and came down in Estes Park. This road is the highest (continuous) paved road in the US.
Stanley Hotel Ghost Tour
Hotel in Denver on Colfax
7. Denver to The Dunes (Southern Colorado)
Great Sand Dunes NP This park is great. Next time I go, I will plan to camp on the dunes instead of the nearby campground.
8. The Dunes to Albuquerque
Santa Fe I love walking the downtown square here, especially exploring the local churches. In particular, the Loretta Chapel with a spiral staircase.
