Abstract: This is a report on joint work with Jennifer Johnson-Leung and Brooks Roberts on Siegel modular forms of degree 2, specifically paramodular forms. We introduce the "stable Klingen subgroups" and use p-adic representation theory to facilitate the calculation of Hecke eigenvalues, leading to much simplified algorithms.
