The Department of Defense is a large employer of professional mathematicians holding Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral degrees. This presentation will:

  • Provide a general overview of the DoD mission,
  • Give a big picture view of the types of mathematics used at DoD,
  • Touch on a few specific mathematical examples, including an introduction to public key cryptography.

This talk will be accessible to any undergraduate and graduate student.
