Upload your essay

Submit your essay here. We're looking for an essay that describes:

  • Your background in math (coursework, independent study, competitions, etc.)
  • Why you study math
  • Your math-related career goals
  • Your work record
  • Your extracurricular activities

You'll need to submit your essay as a PDF. View instructions on how to create a PDF (the link opens in a new window, don't worry!)

Upload your transcript

Submit a copy of your unofficial transcript here. Include the most up-to-date copy you have access to use.

You'll need to submit your transcript as a PDF. View instructions on how to create a PDF. (the link opens in a new window, don't worry!)

Since you've said you're a future student, we also need a sealed, official copy of your transcript from your current or most recently attended institution.

You can mail it to:

Department of Mathematics, Attn: Undergraduate Scholarships
University of North Texas 1155
Union Circle #311430
Denton, TX 76203-5017

Or drop it off in person in GAB 435.

Your references

Please give us the email addresses for 2 references from whom you wish to request letters of recommendation. We will send them a web link via email at which they can submit their letters of recommendation for you.

For current students, 1 of your references should be a UNT instructor. For future students, 1 of your references should be a high school or college math instructor.

We recommend that you let your references know ahead of time that you're requesting a letter from them. That way, they'll know to keep an eye out for the email--and get your recommendation in sooner!

One last question...

We've got one last question for you. Answering this helps us better promote our scholarships, which in turn helps students like you get connected with these financial aid opportunities.
