Aristid V. Grosse

1905-1985

 

	He was a native of Riga, Russia, worked on the Manhattan Project and later was head of the Research Institute at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; first prepared protactinium oxide and metallic protactinium. Gross strongly promoted American science to ensure its supremacy over Russian science.
