Title: Teaching through Technology: Math Lessons with Wii Sports®

Abstract: Mathematics can be challenging for students of all ages. However, learning mathematics through popular household technologies, such as video games, can be fun and beneficial for all learners. This presentation will explore classroom tested middle school mathematics lessons that require students to investigate and collect data from the game Wii Sports®. Discussion will also include interdisciplinary co-teaching strategies, affordable field trip suggestions, homework students will actually want to complete at home, differentiated instruction and classroom management techniques that allow for successful technology integration within a middle school classroom.
