Why are there so many voting procedures? Is there really more than one way to tally the votes? Do different methods lead to different outcomes? What is the most "fair" option, and what does "fair" even mean? In recognition of the recent presidential election, we will explore some of the issues and surprising paradoxes of mathematics and voting. This talk will touch on highlights of this vast subject, and will hopefully inspire the audience to delve more deeply into the nuances of the field.
