Alyssa Bassler | Department of Mathematics

Alyssa Bassler

Alyssa Bassler is a double major in Mathematics and Economics, a common combination of majors at UNT. Alyssa is also working towards UNT's Undergraduate Academic Certificate in Actuarial Science. Alyssa serves as one of the two CAS Ambassadors representing the Mathematics Department for 2012-13, and she also serves as Vice President of Gamma Iota Sigma, the international risk management, insurance, and actuarial science collegiate fraternity. An accomplished student, Alyssa has received one of the Mathematics Department E. H. Hanson scholarships and a DFW Rims Scholarship. When asked to name an interesting fact about herself, Alyssa said that by the time she was six years old, she had lived in five different states and moved eight times. Alyssa is therefore well-qualified to describe all the great things about living in Denton. Alyssa is happy to talk with current or prospective mathematics majors and answer any questions they may have about undergraduate life at UNT in general, and in the Mathematics Department in particular. Alyssa can be reached by e-mail at alyssbassler@my.unt.edu
