Jared L. Hilliard will be spending the spring semester of his senior year immersed in mathematics in the heart of Moscow. Jared will be participating in the Math in Moscow program with scholarship support from the American Mathematical Society. Math in Moscow is one of two renowned study abroad programs focused on mathematics. Although mathematics instruction in Math in Moscow is conducted in English, Jared has spent two and one-half years studying Russian language here at UNT in preparation for this experience. Jared expects to graduate in May with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a minor in Russian. Jared is currently applying for Ph.D. programs in mathematics and plans a career as a mathematician. Jared was also this year's recipient of the UNT Mildred Masters McCarty Scholarship in mathematics.
