Title: Definable Cardinals, Hyperfiniteness, and Local Rigidity

Abstract: We will discuss how local rigidity properties of the usual action of SL_2(Z) on R^2 can be used to rule out analogs of the Glimm-Effros dichotomy for non-hyperfiniteness, and push complexity results near the base of the reducibility hierarchy.
