Abstract: Jacobi forms are automorphic forms with surprising applications in different areas of mathematics and physics. For example, Jacobi forms play important roles in the study of mock theta functions, Donaldson invariants, quantum black holes, and also the recent Mathieu moonshine phenomenon. In this talk, I will give a brief overview of Jacobi forms. I will review some classical results on holomorphic Jacobi forms and also some recent results on real-analytic Jacobi forms. No prior knowledge of Jacobi forms is assumed.
