We will discuss and demonstrate some uses of LaTeX. We will explain how to get started, how to create new commands and environments. We will also give an introduction to the TikZ package and demonstrate its use to make simple diagrams and to plot functions. We'll discuss how to make citations and create a bibliography and also how to use Beamer to create slideshows. This is by no means a complete description of what one can accomplish using LaTeX, (in fact, LaTeX is Turing complete; it can be used to accomplish anything that any other programming language can accomplish) but we hope to give a good overview of the most readily usable features.
