Abstract: Hecke algebras come in many varieties and flavors. In this talk, I'll describe Hecke algebras that arise as centralizer algebras of induced representations of finite groups. I'll show how these Hecke algebras appear naturally as subalgebras of the group algebra, find explicit bases for these Hecke algebras, and give a general formula for the structure constants with respect to these bases.
