We present the teaching strategies used in teaching Math 1350 and Math 1351. Math 1350 and 1351 are the two courses offered by our department which connect mathematics content knowledge to the elementary and middle school mathematics curriculum. These courses complement the pedagogy course required for future elementary and middle school teachers. In these courses, we incorporate the use of hands-on manipulatives and activities to provide these future teachers with a deeper understanding of mathematics content in the elementary/middle school curriculum. Special emphasis will be placed on applying these strategies in teaching other undergraduate mathematics courses.
