I'll discuss some techniques that I use in my Math 2000 (Discrete Mathematics) class to teach my students to write mathematical proofs, as well as my motivation for these techniques. I'll also discuss how these techniques differ from what I typically use to teach computations or procedures. Former students will also be in attendance to provide their perspective on progressing through Math 2000 and Math 3000 (Real Analysis I). For an engaging discussion, participants are welcome to bring their own thoughts about teaching students how to write mathematical proofs.
