Abstract: We will define the notion of being residually null in a Polish space and show that it produces a sigma-ideal of sets in any Polish space. We will show that it contains the meager sets and universally null sets and, at least in models of ZFC+CH, that the containment is proper and, even more, that there exist residually null sets which cannot be written as the union of a meager set with a universally null set.
