Employment as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant

The mathematics department employs a number of undergradutes in the fall and spring semesters to assist with the instruction of Math 1100 (Algebra), Math 1180 (College Math for Business, Economics, and Related Fields), Math 1680 (Elementary Statistics), and certain sections of Math 1580 (Survey of Mathematics). If you have strong basic math skills and an interest in teaching or tutoring, we encourage you to apply. Our greatest need is in the fall semester, and the fall semester is when we hire the most new undergraduate assistants.

Mimimum qualifications for employment as an undergraduate teaching assistant can be found in the application form below. We are espeically interested in students who have good grades in statistics (A in Math 1680 or B or better in Math 3680), TNT students, actuarial certificate students, and double majors or minors in business, finance, or economics with good grades in calculus.

We will begin reviewing applications for spring 2020 on November 6th. We will continue to accept applications until all available openings are filled.
